		<description>Michael,

This is the kind of information I really appreciate getting on this review blog. I have used four different Comcast HD boxes, including the replacement of a broken one and have not noticed any difference in the quality of the resolution on any of them. Your experience of being told different things by Comcast is familiar. When I first had a Comcast HD Box installed 4 years ago, the Service Guy told me that any day I could expect to have full digital programming of ALL COMAST Channels.. What a preposterous claim that turned out to be. Four years later, and we are now still 3 days a way from the cutoff date from analog to digital TV in Denver.

Your judgment of your picture is probably a little more discerning then most, so I wonder if the quality degradation might have something to do with the analog conversion to the digital box. I would be curious to know how your picture looks when the stations are switched to 100% digital TV. Please come back and let us know.

Thanks,

Rob

<description>I finally got the the supposedly new dch3416 box and I will check to see if its resolution is better or the same. 6-7 years ago, I did a AB comparison between the Comcast black analog box vs the new HD digital box (older version - one that I just turned in for this new one). I compare the resolution of these two boxes on the same program and on the same tv. The resolution from the analog box is noticeable sharper and I told the service guy who did not want to believe it and cannot do anything about it. I complaint several times and went to deaf ears. Finally, a couple years ago, another service guy told me that I was right! If I was the CEO of Comcast, I would have fired my CTO who should have Motorola fix the problem. Finally, this new one come out and I am not convince its picture resolution is on par with the analog box which I have returned some time ago. I used to use this box to watch all channels that are not HD because it is sharper.

Does anyone out there has the same experience? Any input?
