Theater Popcorn Maker
This Old Fashioned Popcorn Machine is made by, Maxi-matic. Maxi-Matic makes an abundance of quality home & kitchen products, and you can tell this is not a toy, but a genuine, high-quality popcorn machine. This particular popping machine is not only retro in cosmetic appeal, but in it's high quality construction. There are no cheap plastics; it is built with sturdy metal. The front tray, popping kettle, serving trough; and even the salt shaker are all made with shiny, stainless steel. The 60" wheels are heavy duty, as well, and roll quite nicely, even on a carpeted floor. Some assembly is required, but the instruction manual makes it easy. All parts fit together precise and snug, resulting in a very solid, attractive unit. The finished product weighs approximately 80lbs and makes a very appealing addition to your basement, rec-room or bar.
Making Theater Popcorn
Making popcorn with the Maximatic EPM-400 Pop corn Machine is easy, clean and fun. Plug the unit into an outlet. There are three switches: One for inside light and heater, two for heating the oil, and three for stirring the kettle. You can buy premixed popcorn with the oil and butter already in it, or you can use you plain popcorn with your own oil. Pour 2 Tablespoons of oil into the kettle and let it heat for about 3 - 4 minutes. Then, add 1 cup of plain ol', regular, dry popcorn. Turn on the mixer switch, and within a 3 or 4 minutes, you will have about 1.5 quarts of delicious, fresh popcorn. Simply repeat the instructions as often as you like, or until the glass storage compartment is full.

I recommend trying some of the premixed packages that use real butter and ingredients to emulate the authentic aroma and taste of movie-theater popcorn. We will rate some of the many brands in an upcoming, future review.
Old Fashioned Pop Corn Machine Features
The other great part about this popcorn maker is how easy it is to clean. The bottom of the tray has holes which collect unpopped kernals. Unused kernals can be easily sweeped with your hand into the holes where underneath lies a convenient, slide out tray for discarding them. The inside of the glass can be wiped down very easily with a damp cloth. Also, the kettle can be completely removed for easy clean-up, which is not necessary until it's been used several times.
