Great post. Thanks for sharing your opinions on beef jerky. I agree whole heatedly about real jerky being dry, smoky and simply seasoned. I really enjoy having something tough to work with and chew. It keeps you occupied on long drives.

I totally agree. I found it at a little mom and pop gas station in Alabama about 20+ years ago. I was running low on gas and pulled in. At the register, it caught my eye. I am not a fan of "wet" or greasy jerky and this looked pretty good. Same story as above, I bought it, hit the road on my way to Atlanta and opened it too far gone to turn around for more. I was hooked. It was just a little single-serve package and it didn't last at all. On my way back home, I bought the last ten packages they had. THEN, I noticed the 800 number on the card inside. I've been ordering ever since. That gas station became my favorite when heading north. I never drove by without stopping... in either direction. Back on a trip to AL after a number of years, 10 or so, I made my normal pit-stop, only to find they didn't carry it any more. Too bad for them. It was a little place in the middle of nowhere... No reason to stop there now.

Some complain about it being dry and too chewy, but that's real jerky, cowboy style. It's whole, recognizable slices of meat, seasoned simply and has a great smokey flavor. To me it is, by far, the best I've ever had. If you're staring down a jar of it and don't like it quite so dry, go for a piece that looks more red than dark brown. They will all give your jaw a good workout, but I find the redder the strip, it is generally a tad bit juicier.

This is truly the worlds BEST beef jerky! I buy it by the 5lb's I know it may seem expensive but...ooo its the BEST! once u try it..it will be hard to open any other package of jerky! NOTHING compares! I found it in a Loves gas station 3 1/2 years ago on out way to Disneyland...only bought a little pack and opened it 200 miles later...i could not wait for our return trip 1 week later to swing by the one and only place u can purchase it in the state of California...and that's 3 hrs from my home...so online ordering is what i do...the seasoning the smell the taste is like no other! So if you have a craving or even a jerky tooth! I'm telling you place an order you wont be disappointed...it does take about 8 days to get to Ca from OK...so you will have to wait for your reorder which is what i am doing right now!

Grab a can for a road trip...a movie...or an evening on the couch! You will love it!
