It's not surprising that the Civic Hybrid wins the top honor in lease values for July, 2009. Hybrids sell for 3-4 thousand more than similarly equipped non-hybrid equipped cars. The 2009 Civic Hybrid has an MSRP of $24,360, a monthly lease payment of $199.00 for 36 months with $2,299 due at signing. That averages out to be only $257.33 per month, and a PRR Lease Ratio of only 1.06%.
The Subaru Legacy is close behind with a PRR of only 1.08%. This is well below the average PRR which is 1.30%. Not surprisingly, 4 of the top 5 leases are Japanese Cars. The BMW 335i lease comes in with an impressive # 5 ranking this month. In fact two of the top-10 leases are BMWs with the other eight all being Japanese Cars. Subaru, Honda and Toyota seem to consistently provide the best car leases. Obviously, this is due to their great track record for reliability, resulting in high resale values year after year.
