I might call this Hamilton Beach Electric knife the best thing since sliced bread even if bread is not its intended purpose. This handy, inexpensive electric kitchen knife will make quick, clean and neat work out of roast beef, turkey breast, and other solid cuts of meat. But, believe it or not, one of the best uses I’ve found for an electric carving knife goes beyond this.
Electric Carving Knife Tackles Delicate Slicing Jobs
Imagine trying to slice through bacon-wrapped meatloaf by hand. The bacon would undoubtedly slide right off the meat and the servings would likely not be very equally divided. Also, the downward pressure applied by your hand would squeeze some of the juices right out of the beef. The beauty of the electric carving knife is that the serrated edges of the knife make a very precision-made cut right through the bacon and meat. Very little pressure is needed, meaning that the the bacon and the juice stays on and inside the meat where it belongs.
Before I get to the four mentioned bourbon whiskey brands, I would like to explain how I got here. All bourbon is whiskey, but not all whiskey is bourbon. This is important because distilleries in Colorado seem to be popping up everywhere. Most of what I’ve had in Colorado is not bourbon whiskey brands. In the past year, I’ve visited Leopold Bros and Stranahan here in Colorado. I became curious what the buzz was all about. The whiskey I tasted at the two aforementioned places didn’t seem all that special to me and are horrendously expensive compared to smooth, refined Kentucky bourbon. Of course, the big difference is that I was comparing these whiskies to bourbon which they are not. When it comes to smoothness and immediate enjoyment, bourbon seems to give a higher bang-for-the-buck. So, I wanted to explore a little bit with actual Colorado bourbon just to see how it compares to other bourbons in the same price range. This is no easy task but as I just mentioned, Colorado whiskey is expensive! In the process, I became curious about some of these other types of whiskey. I did some research on Proof66.com which is an excellent primer for learning about the different types of whiskey. I will not bore you with the education on what makes it what it is because they can do that much better than me. Besides bourbon, there is blended whiskey, single malt whiskey, Irish whisky, rye whiskey, and single malt scotch whisky just to name a few. So, I picked up a bottle or two from three of these categories in this past month. I will get to these other types of whiskies later. For now, I would like to compare and review a few of the bourbons that I’ve tried most recently. These are my own bourbon reviews. You can rate each of them, yourself, at the end of the article.
A bone broth recipe is an ancient remedy for healing and promoting our immune system. When I was a kid I remember taking a cooled, leftover bowl of chicken soup out of the refrigerator and noticing that the broth looked like gold jello. I later learned that this gelatin-type substance is the key to what makes it so healthy. The gelatin, which is packed full of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients is what is extracted from the bones that have cooked in the broth all day. At room temperature or above, these vitamins and minerals inconspicuously blend in with the liquid broth. When the broth is cooled at refrigerator temperatures, assuming it has been cooked long enough, it settles into a gel. The gelatin is evidence that the bone broth was successfully cooked. The health benefits of bone broth are numerous and because it is in a natural liquid form, the body absorbs them much better than over-the-counter supplements which are expensive and hard to digest. One of the very expensive supplements that bone broth can replace is Glucosamine and Chondroitin which are good for our joints and arthritis.
Oral B Professional Care 2000 is a dual-handle, rechargeable, electrical toothbrush designed to remove more plaque, and polish teeth significantly better than the hand-brush method. On the box, the claim is printed that the Oral B 2000 will remove up to 5x or 400% more plaque along your gum-line than the conventional toothbrushing method. Having personally used the Oral-B Electric Toothbrushes for a few days now, that claim is very believable.
Oral B Professional Care 2000
The latest Oral-B is nothing like your father’s electric toothbrush that merely vibrated quickly against your teeth. I was very skeptical about investing in an electrical toothbrush based on my past experiences with them generations ago. I was pleasantly surprised. The Oral B Professional Care 2000 brush oscillates, rotates, and pulsates at a surprisingly high and powerful RPM. Because the rotating brush is so powerful, it allows you to get to the back and inside of your teeth and gums effortlessly. The power of this toothbrush feels very similar to the polishing equipment used during teeth-cleaning visit to your dentist. I am apt to believe the claim this unit removes up to 5x more plaque. I can feel the difference around my teeth and gums. After one, single-use, I felt as though I had just been to the dentist for a complete teeth-cleaning.
The Shark Rocket Professional Performance Plus replaced our old, ‘beat-up, falling-apart’ Dyson DC14 Animal Vacuum. About eight years ago, we paid around $500.00 for the Dyson after being told these were the best vacuum cleaners money can buy, hands-down. The Dyson was okay, but not once, not even right-out-of-the-box, was I ever wowed by its features and performance. On the other hand, we paid only $179.00 for the Shark Vacuum vacuum cleaner. At less than half the price, the Shark Rocket has already left a much more favorable, initial impression on me than the previous, Dyson Vacuum Website. Here are some of the things that stand-out about this new vacuum cleaner, and how it compares to the Dyson.

Shark Rocket Professional
Suction, Power, and Performance
The first time I powered-on the Shark Rocket Professional, it had noticeably more power than my old, Dyson DC14 Full Kit, reviewed here. The brushes on the Sharp Rocket really dig into the carpet. In fact, the brush rollers are so strong that they practically propel the entire vacuum unit along the carpet by itself. After vacuuming our entire, my wife took the Shark Rocket over to my parent’s house to demonstrate. The carpeting of both houses look significantly better than they ever did with the Dyson. The Shark Rocket Professional advertises that it has more suction than the latest Dyson DC50 vacuum. The results leave little doubt in my mind that this is true.
Features and Operation
Lightweight Sleek Swivel Performance
The Shark Rocket Professional is only 14lbs. The low, sleek swivel-based vacuum head makes it a breeze to vacuum underneath beds, sofas, chairs, and other furniture. The vacuum head includes nice bright, LED lights so you can see what you are doing as you clean up under those dark pieces of furniture. As I wheeled the Shark Rocket around our living room for a while, I immediately noticed that less effort is required of my back and legs.
